Scandinavian Journal of Military Studies

SJMS Talks is published by the Scandinavian Journal of Military Studies. SJMS is an online, open access journal publishing both high quality research and practice-oriented studies relevant to the military profession. The journal welcomes submissions from a wide range of scholarly traditions including anthropology, sociology, philosophy, history, strategic studies, international relations, leadership and organization studies as well as security and defense politics. It is produced and published by the Royal Danish Defence College, the Norwegian Defence University College, the Swedish Defence University, the Centre for Military Studies at the University of Copenhagen and the Swedish Centre for Studies of Armed Forces and Society. Back in 2022, SJMS fast-tracked a special collection on Ukraine. Naman Karl-Thomas Habtom contributed with an article on the demographic constitution, structure and role of the pro-Ukrainian foreign fighters. We met Naman at the SJMS conference at Södertörn University in august to ask him what’s currently going on with foreign fighters in Ukraine.
